Questions
Costume Care, Wear, and Repair
Due to the nature of performance, it is natural for rhinestones to
fall off your costume over time. I include a packet of replacement
rhinestones with each order to ensure you have the necessary materials
to keep your costumes at maximum sparkle! To replace fallen stones, put a
small dab of e6000 Fabri-Fuse on your desired spots, allow to dry for
10-15 seconds, then place your rhinestones.
Costumes should be aired out after each performance and then stored
in a cool dry place. If keeping your costume in a box or other closed
container, use silica gel packets to prevent unwanted smells. Once
rhinestoned, these costumes cannot be machine washed. Instead, you can
spritz a mixture of vodka, water, and essential oils to keep your
costume smelling fresh!
Payment and Pricing
I charge $25/hr plus the cost of rhinestones/any other materials I source for you. A deposit (25% of estimated labor) plus cost of materials is required before I begin working on your project.
Do you sew the clothes yourself?
No, I embellish existing pieces. These can be costumes you’ve already performed in, items I source for you, or any clothes you’d like to embellish!
Can you rhinestone my prop/shoes/accessories?
Yes! I am happy to rhinestone additional pieces to complete your look. Please note that while I am open to and encourage unconventional requests, certain items may not be suitable for rhinestoning because of material incompatibilities. If you’re not sure, ask!
Is this just for performers?
No! I am happy to embellish just about anything. I also create Mardi Gras outfits, bridal lingerie, festival wear, and more! If you have a specific inquiry, please fill out my contact form and we’ll talk about bringing your vision to life.
What’s your timeline?
My timeline varies from project to project based on factors such as scale, materials sourcing, and rhinestone shipping times. Currently I require a minimum lead time of 3 weeks from the date of our initial consultation.
Do you ship?
Yes, I ship anywhere within the United States. However, due to the delicate nature of these pieces, it is possible for rhinestones to come off during the shipping process. To combat this I include extra rhinestones in all repair kits for shipped orders.
